Welcome to the fourth in my Titan Poker Coupon Code Strategy Series, focusing on no limit Texas Holdem poker tournament play and associated strategies. In this article we’ll examine ‘Sit and Go’ tournament – the most popular online poker tournament format today.
When I first started playing in Sit and Go tournaments, I started thinking that they called “sit and go “, because you sat down, played a little, then it is time to go do something else, because you’d just whacked and was knocked out of the tournament! These tournaments can be really difficult, because “like you actually” end table” in a regular tournament. Another way you could have a massive amount of fun is to Play Roulette and in case you want something that can bring you a decent amount of money try to Play Keno Online and the online casino bankroll will grow fast.
The recent popularity of playing online Sit & Go tournaments sometimes surprises me. On any evening, you can try to jump in Sit and Go (SNG) table on Party Poker, for example, easily find and compete just to get in the seat before that table is full, forcing you to go find another table (especially for lower table fee). I’I saw the time when you can take up to 10 attempts to get the Sit and Go tournament table in prime time. This is because there are literally thousands of players around the world who are hungry to get into these tournaments and hopefully win some money.
All the major online poker rooms now offer the Sit and Go format games now, so you can find a place to play almost anywhere. Can you think of these games to be very similar small “satellite’ tournament games that surround the major poker tournaments in traditional poker tournament venues? Also play a bit reminiscent of the final table in the regular tournament, with one key exception – nobody at this table earned their way to this tournament table – they are only paid their entry fee to play there. For this reason, a wide range of players and skills you are likely to encounter wild differently – one of the many challenges you’ll face in Sit and Go play.
In general, there are two types of Sit and Go tournaments are available. Single-table and multi table tournaments. Today, there is a faster game, sometimes called “Turbo” mode SNG tournaments. In these games, tournament tempo is much faster (blinds go up every 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes), with blinds increasing much faster and less time to allow your decisions. These is a very challenging game format, but move along much faster than traditional Sit and Go tournaments.
You can also get in 4-player heads-up (2 player) games that are actually just put you in a poker tournament final table, short-handed mode of operation immediately, so you can play games from the end-of there. I don’t really prefer these games, though, since much less players, so the size of the pool available to win, is much smaller and not as worth it.
In general, two tables Sit and Go’s are much more profitable, since it starts with more players (18 to 20), which prize pool larger and more attractive. Once you know how to play and win in these Sit and Go tournaments and can adjust the game accordingly, the number of tables and players really does not matter as much because you’ll be able to adapt their play quickly as changed circumstances around you.
Some of my favorite places to play Sit & Go tournaments are Party Poker, Poker Stars and PrimaPoker’s Captain Cook’s poker room. There are many great poker rooms out to a wide range of players frequenting each of them. They are all very similar.
